Terms of Use

Last updated: May 21, 2026

By using eramoslawfirm.com (the "Site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. No attorney-client relationship

Using this Site, chatting with Rami, filling out the intake form, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is formed only when you and Eugenio Ramos, Esq. sign a written engagement agreement.

2. No legal advice

The information on this Site — everything Rami says, every article on /learn, every resource, the city pages, and the practice-area pages — is general information about bankruptcy, not legal advice for your specific situation. Bankruptcy law is complicated and fact-dependent. For advice on your case, schedule a free consultation with Eugenio.

3. Rami is an AI assistant

Rami is powered by Claude, an Anthropic language model. Rami is not an attorney and cannot practice law. Rami may:

  • Be wrong or out of date about specific points of law.
  • Not know about recent court-standard changes.
  • Misinterpret what you type.

Treat Rami's answers as a helpful starting point, not as binding legal direction. When it matters, talk to Eugenio.

4. No outcome guarantees

Bankruptcy is a federal court process with many variables. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. No information on this Site, no testimonial, and no statement made by Rami constitutes a promise of any particular result in your case. Every case is different.

5. Attorney advertising notice

Under the California Rules of Professional Conduct, this Site is attorney advertising. Eugenio Ramos, Jr., Esq. — California State Bar License #261964 — is responsible for the content. We are designated as a federal Debt Relief Agency under 11 U.S.C. § 528 and help people file for bankruptcy under the Bankruptcy Code.

6. Jurisdiction and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute related to this Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts of San Diego County, California.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Ramos Law Firm is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site. Your sole remedy if you are not satisfied with the Site is to stop using it.

8. Modifications

We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the change. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Fresh Slate — self-serve Chapter 7 tool

Fresh Slate is a free, AI-assisted tool operated by Ramos Law Firm that helps eligible California residents organize and prepare a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. These additional terms apply when you use it.

What it is — and isn't. Fresh Slate helps you gather your information, see a plain-English read of your situation, and (if you choose) prepare draft paperwork. It is not legal advice, and using it — answering the qualifier, completing the intake, chatting with Rami, viewing your assessment, or saving your progress — does not create an attorney-client relationship. The estimates it shows (the means-test comparison, the exemption preview, the “next step” recommendation) are informational previews, not legal determinations. Only a California-licensed attorney can give you legal advice about your case.

You are responsible for your filing. If you file on your own (pro se), you represent yourself. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything you review, sign, and file, and for meeting all court requirements — including the required credit-counseling and debtor-education courses, deadlines, the trustee's 341 meeting, and the filing fee. Bankruptcy papers are signed under penalty of perjury. Do not file based only on the tool's output; review and verify your information first.

Eligibility. Fresh Slate is for California residents filing Chapter 7 only, and is designed for the simplest cases. The qualifier screens for this. If your situation is more involved — for example, you own real estate, face an active lawsuit or wage garnishment, have significant non-exempt property, or are filing jointly — the tool points you to a free consultation with an attorney instead.

The optional $100 attorney review (limited scope). You may choose to have Eugenio Ramos, Esq. review your prepared information for a flat $100 fee. This is a limited-scope service governed by a separate written agreement: an attorney reviews what you entered and flags issues before you file. It does not, by itself, make Ramos Law Firm your attorney of record, and it does not include full representation, court appearances, or ongoing handling of your case unless you separately retain the firm. If you retain the firm to file, the $100 is credited toward that engagement. Because the fee covers the attorney's time, it is non-refundable once the review has been performed.

No guarantee. Bankruptcy outcomes depend on many facts and on the court. Nothing in Fresh Slate is a promise that your debts will be discharged or that any particular result will occur.
